I offer private and small group childbirth education classes.  The private classes are done in your home according to your schedule and birth preferences. These are ideal for couples who really want to do a complete childbirth education program, yet are restricted by scheduling or have other children at home. 

My classes are based on the Lamaze philosophy, which is as follows:

• Birth is normal, natural and healthy.
• The experience of birth profoundly affects women and their families.
• Women's inner wisdom guides them through birth.
• Women's confidence and ability to give birth is either enhanced or diminished by the care provider and place of birth.
• Women have the right to give birth free from routine medical interventions.
• Birth can safely take place in homes, birth centers and hospitals.
• Childbirth education empowers women to make informed choices in health care, to assume responsibility for their health and to trust their inner wisdom.

I will do my best to provide you with the most current and evidence-based information around pregnancy and birth, while respecting the choices that you make about your birth.
