Childbirth Education Classes in August/September!

Dates: 8/17, 8/24, 8/31, 9/14, 9/21, 928

Time: 6:30-9:30

Location:  Durham (near the School of Science & Math)

This 6 week series will be based on the Lamaze Philosophy that pregnancy and birth are normal, natural and healthy life stages.  The goal of this series is to empower couples to make informed choices about the birth of their children, assume responsibility for the health of their family and to trust their inner wisdom.  Classes will be interactive, social and fun and will be based on up-to-date evidence.  Participants will explore their own values, dreams and fears around birth and will learn relaxation and pain management techniques.  Topics may vary depending on the group’s interest, but participants can expect to cover normal pregnancy, labor and birth, comfort techniques, including meditation, medical interventions, breastfeeding, and post-partum care for the family.

I will do my best to provide you with the most current and evidence-based information around pregnancy and birth, while respecting the choices that you make about your birth.

 I also offer private childbirth education classes.  The private classes are done in your home according to your schedule and birth preferences. These are ideal for couples who really want to do a complete childbirth education program, yet are restricted by scheduling or have other children at home.
